Internationally renowned author helps us celebrate rural living

WHAT: Celebration of Rural Living with Margaret Atwood

WHERE: Wrico Holsteins Farm, 2064 Russell Road, Midhurst

WHEN:  Sunday June 22, noon-3 pm

Author Margaret Atwood will be the main speaker at a celebration of rural living at Rob Wright’s dairy farm next week and you’re invited! It will be a fun-filled day with barbecue, drafts, local artisans and farmers’ tables. Bring the kids and enjoy a wonderful day in the heartland of rural Ontario.

Dale Goldhawk will emcee, and environmental lawyer David Donnelly and Food and Water First leader Shirley Boxen will join Atwood in a panel discussion.

The renowned author is fulfilling her promise to come to Midhurst and do a fundraiser if the number of people signing the Midhurst Ratepayers’ Petition reaches 5,000. That happened in March. The event is on Sunday, June 22  from 12-3 pm..

Tickets are on sale now for this special event coordinated by the Midhurst Ratepayers’ Association that will highlight the importance of rural communities and the resources they protect (foodlands, fresh water and natural heritage).
