Bubel announces run for Essa council

Today, Shawn Bubel of Thornton announced his candidacy for Ward 2 Councillor of Essa Township.

“In my 2010 run for Deputy Mayor, I was honoured by the show of support from the voters of Ward 2. This time I am squarely focused on the needs of Thornton, Utopia, Ivy, Egbert, Colwell and all points in between. In the past two years, Essa residents have seen their tax levies increase by 8% with another 3.9% increase on the way for 2014. There are issues that need to be addressed for Ward 2 and I want to be at the council table pushing that agenda on behalf of my neighbours.” said Bubel.

“Over the years I have built many relationships with stakeholders across Simcoe County and for the past five years I have proudly served constituents as an assistant to a Member of Parliament. I have helped guide thousands of individuals through a system that is often slow, complicated and frustrating. Public service can be very effective, but it only works if you have the right people in place and you actually help residents.” added Bubel.
