Midland Free Press May 5 2012 A First Nation encampment at the Coldwater Canadiana Heritage Museum has packed up and moved on. The group has moved their protest to near Penetanguishene.

Three Anishinabe men set up the Coldwater camp April 7 to protest the proposed Coldwater- Narrows land claim settlement offer and to attract attention to what they say are their fading traditional practices.
With the museum’s opening coming up, museum officials wanted the men to leave the site.
On Sunday, the group told the OPP liaison team they would pack up their camp by Friday. That was not acceptable to the museum board, which wanted them off the property Wednesday.
The encampment is now at Awenda Provincial Park, located on the shores of Georgian Bay.
