Springwater update on Midhurst

This email is intended to provide you with an update on the Midhurst Secondary Plan. The Township is in the process of answering questions posed by the Midhurst Ratepayers Association on April 16, 2012. It is anticipated that answers to those questions will be available at Council’s May 22, 2012 meeting.

It is our understanding that the County has been engaging the Province on Growth Plan Amendment #1 in an effort to bring the County Official Plan (OP) into compliance. As a result, Township Council will be meeting in closed session with the Township Solicitor (May 1) to receive an update on the interpretation of Amendment #1 and the status of the Ontario Municipal Board (OMB) appeal. These closed session deliberations are governed by the Municipal Act, section 239(2) as the subject is in regard to litigation or potential litigation, including matters before administrative tribunals, affecting the municipality and advice that is subject to solicitor-client privilege, and as such, regretfully, the meeting will not be open to the public.
