Lawrence warns against transporting pests on firewood

Deputy-Mayor George Lawrence chaired the meeting. Mayor Ray Millar was absent.
Deputy-Mayor Lawrence wants to alert the township residents about the leaf borer which targets ash and maple trees. There is no sign of it yet in Simcoe County but it can be transported into the area by someone bringing up a load of fire wood up to their cottage from a contaminated.

looking for funding to help promote children’s hockey and to add a few necessary items, such as a septic system, for their arena. This issue has been deferred because of the Mayor’s absence.
Councillor Wishart brought up the issue of Tiny having a double standard on encroachment. Councillor Claire suggests that this needs to be discussed at a future meeting.
Doug Taylor, Manager of Administrative Services/ Treasurer, said that there are five broad band towers coming to the township. Construction will begin in March and completed by the end of October.
Lawrence brought forward a resolution from Halton Hills concerning a stop to the possibility of the used aggregate pits being used for garbage.
They want zoning regulations on the after use of these pits. Councillor Warren states that there is no control over what is put back in.
