Myrna Clark (Simcoe Region Chapter of Council of Canadians) and Mariane Cancilla (AWARE Simcoe / AWARE Barrie) will be presenting an open delegation to Barrie city council.
Topic – To Give Barrie City Council information about the Canada-European Union Comprehensive Economic and Trade Agreement (CETA)
Canadian municipalities have been on the outside of Canada-European Union free trade negotiations for too long. In some provinces, local councillors are kept only partly informed about the status of the Canada-EU Comprehensive Economic and Trade Agreement (CETA). In others, local decision makers know almost nothing of the deal which will have a big impact on how local communities make important economic decisions.
Show your concern, or find out more about this trade agreement that has the potential to severely limit municipal decision-makng.
