Letter to the Barrie Examiner July 13 2011
Martin Luther King Jr.’s dream of equality, uttered on Aug. 29, 1963 at the Lincoln Memorial in Washington has left an undeniable influence — indeed a clarion’s call — upon the struggle for racial equality in North America.
Like Martin Luther King Jr., the late Shannen Koostachin dreamt of an emancipation for her own people–the emancipation of the aboriginal Canadian that could free them from the shackles of racism and neglect.
