Mega-quarry proponent wants to pay less for planning fee

The company that is planning the largest quarry in Canada is asking one of the agencies tasked with assessing the environmental impact of the mammoth project for a break. John Lowndes of the Highland Companies is listed on the agenda of the Nottawasaga Valley Conservation Authority board of directors meeting this Friday, May 27, under the heading ‘REquest for Planning Fee Reduction.’ He is to appear at 10 a.m. at the meeting at the Tiffin Conservation Centre in Utopia.
