Solar issue before Springwater, Severn councils

 There have been four new proposed industrial solar projects announced for Simcoe County. One is in Tay Township, one in Springwater and two in Severn Township. 
Check the website. The two in Severn Township can not be identified as to where they located. 
There have been new developments near Ottawa Ontario with local residents wells being contaminated nearby industrial solar facilities. A group of residents believe the contamination may be a result of the drilling required for the thousands of footings necessary to install the solar panels. Bob Leah from Recurrent Energy will be making a presentation to Springwater Township regarding ‘Midhurst 2 and 6’ on Thursday, March 3rd at 5:30pm. The Springwater Township office is located at 2231 Nursery Rd. Minesing, Ontario. You may find the directions on the Springwater Township website.
Severn Township’s next council meeting will have on the agenda a request for Severn Township Council to endorse a resolution citing the negative impact of industrial solar installations on the quality of life for area residents from the committee of Simcoe Solar Farm Awareness Project. The meeting will take place Thursday, March 17th at 7pm at 1024 Hurlwood Lane, Orillia (across from Cdn. Tire).
