A prominent Wasaga Beach businesswoman says hundreds of GTA families could have their summer vacation plans ruined due to a sudden crackdown on local residents renting out illegal cottages.
Mortgage broker Donna Mullen says two of her clients have recently received bylaw enforcement notices stating they could be fined $25,000 for a first offence and $10,000 for every day they continue to rent out their homes or cottages to short-term occupants.
