County of Simcoe postpones Inaugural Meeting until December 16

News release from Simcoe County — Midhurst — December 14, 2010 – Due to inclement weather the 169th Inaugural Meeting of the Council of the County of Simcoe scheduled for today has been postponed until Thursday, December 16 beginning at 1 p.m. in the Council Chamber at the Administration Centre in Midhurst.
Councillors will meet to elect the County Warden from amongst themselves, with the successful candidate serving a two-year term in 2011. For the first time, Council will elect a Deputy Warden. The Chairs and Vice-Chairs to lead Human Services, Performance Management and Corporate Services committees through 2011 will also be elected.
Media representatives are invited to join Council, special guests and dignitaries at the ceremony. A reception will follow the election and the 2011 Warden’s swearing-in ceremony.
