Questionnaire & Interview Results — Oro-Medonte — October 2 2010
AWARE Oro-Medonte adopted a two-step process as a way to express the candidates’ views and positions to as wide an audience as possible. Both steps were, of course, optional.

Step one was a written questionnaire that candidates completed and returned. The participants’ answers to the questionnaire are posted on this website. Click on Candidates, then click on Questionnaires.
Step two was an interview with members of the public and AWARE Oro-Medonte present. This was offered as an additional opportunity for participants to express their views on issues identified by their constituents as being important.
Those in attendance at the September 23 interviews scored each candidate’s responses measured against AWARE’s stated priorities – Transparency in Government, Protection of the Environment, Accountability to Citizens, and Fiscal Responsibility.  Knowledge and Experience were also factored in.
The result is that AWARE Oro-Medonte believes three candidates, Sandy Agnew, David Edwards, and Marty Lancaster, best represent the values and priorities of our organization. We offer this information to inform voters who will make their own decisions.
We thank all of the candidates who participated in the AWARE Oro-Medonte questionnaire and interview process.
We encourage all the participating candidates who are running for Council and wish them well in their election campaigns. We look forward to working constructively with those who are successful in achieving our common goals.
