NEW TECUMSETH – An Alliston campground owner is looking to try his hand at municipal politics.
Douglas Weatherall, the owner of Rolling Acres Campground on Highway 89 east of Alliston, is running to be deputy mayor of New Tecumseth. Rick Milne, the current deputy mayor, is the other registered candidate for the position.
Weatherall is familiar with New Tecumseth council chambers.
In 2009 Weatherall talked to council several times over a dispute he was having with the Nottawasaga Inn Resort over an unopened road allowance on Highway 89 between Rolling Acres and the eastern boundary of the Nottawasaga Inn Resort.
A full list of New Tecumseth’s candidates for the Oct. 25 municipal election is available online at www.town.newtecumseth.on.ca.
