Doug Weatherall, owner of Rolling Acres Campground on Hwy 89 in Alliston, has signed on to run for deputy mayor of New Tecumseth.
Mr. Weatherall’s entry pits him against incumbent Rick Milne, the only other declared candidate for the town-wide elected position that also comes with a seat at County council.
Rolling Acres is currently embroiled in a legal real estate fight with its neighbour the Nottawasaga Resort, over a Town-owned unopened road allowance between the two properties. New Tecumseth is in the middle of the dispute.
There are also clear signals coming from Ward 1 councillor Christine Brayford, who is signed up to run in Ward 3, that she intends to step up and run for deputy.
