AWARE Simcoe meeting picks executive board

July 13 2010 — AWARE Simcoe chose its first executive board at its fourth public meeting, held Saturday in Penetanguishene. Members are Mariane Cancilla of Barrie, Robert Keffer of Bradford West Gwillimbury, Susan Antler of Essa, Don Morgan of Midland, Nickolas Rowe and Ann Truyens of Oro-Medonte, Nancy Robinson of Severn, Kate Harries and John Hawthorne of Springwater, Elsie MacLaren, Vickie Kee and Keith Wood of Tiny, with Beth Brass Elson as First Nations representative. A motion was passed prohibiting those who have filed as candidates in the Oct. 25 municipal election from being members of the board (although they are welcome to attend meetings and participate). The next AWARE Simcoe meeting is set for Saturday July 24, 2010, 10 A.M.-12:30 P.M., Coldwater & District Community Centre, 1 Michael Anne Dr., Coldwater.
