Beausoleil FN appoints Brass Elson as rep on waste strategy committee

Beausoleil First Nation Chief Rodney Monague has appointed Councillor Elizabeth Brass Elson, who has the Environmental Portfolio, to be a First Nations representative on Simcoe County’s waste management strategy steering committee. She joins a technical representative from Rama First Nation, along with representatives from the Ontario environment ministry and the cities of Barrie and Orillia, as non-voting members of the committee. The voting membership consists of five councillors and five public representatives. Committee chair is Innisfil Deputy Mayor Gord Wauchope, deputy chair is Zero Waste Simcoe chair Gord McKay, also a Midland councillor.
