Any one wishing to serve on the county’s new steering committee to work with consultant Stantec on a new waste strategy for Simcoe County must file an application to the County Clerk’s office by Monday at noon (fax number (705) 725-1285).
Details of how to apply are posted on the county’s website. Click here.
There are up to three positions set aside for members of the public. Eligible applicants must be residents of Simcoe County (but not Barrie or Orillia) and not affiliated with either Zero Waste Simcoe or the Adjala-Tosorontio Ratepayers’ Association, which already have representatives on the committee.
Members of the county’s waste management subcommittee will select the three public members at their Nov. 18 meeting and the first meeting of the new steering committee (which includes the existing subcommittee, as well as federal, provincial, Barrie, Orilia and First Nations representatives) will be Nov. 25.
